Mother Mother – O My Heart

Having recently made their live debut in the UK at The Great Escape and at a packed-out show in London, Canada’s Mother Mother are now set to release the title track from forthcoming album ‘O My Heart’ on June 21st.

Vocalist/guitarist Ryan has the following to say of the song – “A peppy track with a groovy bass line, O My Heart is the love anthem for a sociopath. The heroine, a fish with hook in mouth, resembles love, removed from its dwelling place. It's one of the band's fav tracks and speaks of our struggle to mix with society, because being a musician is not quite a real job.”

Mother Mother see the long awaited UK release of their album ‘O My Heart’ on May 31st. ‘O My Heart’ is Mother Mother's second album on Last Gang Records (Metric, DFA 1979, The New Pornographers, Crystal Castles) and since its North American release has achieved great milestones across radio, press and the charts in both Canada and the US.

Mother Mother are generating much recognition and excitement with their original approach to modern pop/rock music; a beautifully bent portrait of vocal harmony, clever, offbeat lyricism, and dynamic instrumentation. Their sound is best encapsulated on their new album, ‘O My Heart’, produced by Howard Redekopp (Tegan and Sara, The New Pornographers).

Paramount to the rising success of Mother Mother is their live show. On stage, this group of five delivers a vast sound, executing pristine vocal harmonies while utilizing a variety of multi instrumental talents. With engaging stage chemistry, Mother Mother recreates the essence of their recorded music with precision and conviction, whilst never losing touch with the power of spontaneity and abandon. No stranger to life on the road, Mother Mother tour constantly and have built a large and dedicated fan base in North America. They've graced the stage with artists such as Pearl Jam, The Killers and Spoon, and have performed on a diverse array of festival/showcase stages including SXSW, CMJ, Pop Montreal, V Fest, Ottawa Blues Fest, Dawson City Music Festival, Ed Fest, Rifflandia Music Festival and both the Vancouver and Montreal International Jazz Festivals.

Ryan explains the band’s excitement at finally coming to the UK: “A Mother Mother UK tour has been a coveted thing for years now. No stranger to Island Country, this is one archipelago we can't wait to get our hands on. And to be honest, we're not the most excitable band, but something like this…. we laugh and smile and make little noises…”
