Leeds punk rock and rollers THE PLIGHT return with new members, hitting the road 30th June – 24th July 2010 with an extensive UK tour.
Since forming in 2004, the band have been touring almost constantly all over the UK and beyond, sharing stages with Cancer Bats, Converge and more, and their vigorous live sets have earned them the reputation as one of the most exciting new live bands around. Additional to their UK tour, THE PLIGHT are playing at this year’s Download Festival and Hevy Music festivals and recently headlined the City Showcase 2010.
THE PLIGHT’s single Ball and Chain is the soundtrack to the new Lucozade advert, directed by Stacy Peralta – self-taught filmmaker, ex-professional skateboarder, surfer and member of the legendary 1970s California skateboard group, The Z-Boys. Peralta began his film career as a guerrilla director, cinematographer and editor. He has since gone on to direct numerous ads as well as winning the Audience and Directing Awards at the Sundance Film Festival for his 2001 feature Dogtown and Z-Boys.
