Run Toto Run - Hater

Run Toto Run – Hater

Manchester’s meandering indie-dance-disco twirlers, Run Toto Run give off a La Roux slowed down by leaves in their synths vibe.

The disjointed femme vocals of Rachel Kichenside offer a little bit of mystery, but no real bite and the lyrics don’t really grab you. As a result, the song lacks focus, bite and rhythm.

A zapping ‘Dace Toto Dance Remix’, layers the vocals with rhythmic distortion and, some punchy synths sends the track veering towards a The Rezillos veined dance/punk pounce. It gives the track a needy lift. Overall, you get the impression that there’s better to come.
