Lissie - Shepherd's Bush Empire
Live Review

Lissie – Shepherd’s Bush Empire, London

New talent, Lissie, is an intriguing artist, blending a fine mix of country-indie-rock. Currently playing and extensive bunch of dates all around the UK, last night I was lucky enough to catch her supporting Local Natives at Shepherds Bush Empire.

A crowd, eager to feast on a night of music, blissfully became enchanted by the Illinois star, as she caressed every crevice of the London venue. Her voice, powerful and beautiful, took everyone on a journey of exploration through her homeland origins, all the while, stomping around the vast stage empowering all.

With a past living by the Mississippi river, a nice country feel graced each track perfectly, shown to be taken in lovingly by the crowd, responding by swaying and jolting around, even to my surprise a bit of skanking shined through!
Her last song brought together a catchy eye opening melody neatly tied together with an embracing guitar solo that could only be left till the finale.

Overall, she was blessed with a pleasing, resounding applause, opening the way for a fantastic night. An artist you should be looking out for soon.
