Pull In Emergency announce details of their self-titled debut album set for release on 6 September 2010.
Produced by Gordon Raphael (The Strokes, Regina Spektor), the album sees Pull In Emergency offer up a debut which oozes achingly human emotion. Full of love, lust, glee and anger the ten track collection sees the band move from a jangly indie combo into a grittier, fuzzier proposition, though their collective ear for a catchy melody is still impeccably well tuned. “At this stage we all agree on the direction we want to follow – it’s largely based on 1990s American indie rock but with a bit of Pullinemergency-isation. It’s a style that is probably the most fun to play – and see – live and that’s a big reason for the change,” explains Frankie.
The album is a consistently impressive mixed bag of tricks, one that’s the product of a group who are constantly evolving and consistently hitting the nail of guitar pop greatness and giddy lovestruck rock square on the head.
Featuring ‘Everything Is The Same’, currently available as a free download from the band's site link, the track is already garnering airplay from Steve Lamacq, Zane Lowe and John Kennedy and Pull In Emergency have sessions under their belt for Huw Stephens (R1) and John Kennedy (Xfm).
Pull In Emergency – Faith Barker (Lead Vocals), Alice Costelloe (Guitar / Keys / Backing Vocals), Dylan Holmes (Bass / Vocals), Frankie Bowmaker (Lead Guitar) and Suneet Chohan (Drums) – formed in 2006 at school in North London and released several singles on the Mute Irregulars label including the single Follow / Why Aren’t You Dancing?
It’s not just on record that Pull In Emergency impress, they’ve more than paid their dues on the touring circuit over the years and this summer sees a string of dates including the 1234 festival in Shoreditch on 24 July.
