Converge have been added to the line up for this year's Sonisphere Festival. Groundbreaking lords of hardcore-metal will be playing the Knebworth festival on August 1st, same day as Iron Maiden, Slayer, Iggy and The Stooges, Bring Me The Horizon and many more.
Converge are kicking off the headlining summer tour in support of 2009's critically acclaimed album Axe To Fall next week. The band’s seventh studio album has catapulted one of underground hardcore/metal's most beloved bands of the last two decades into the sights of mainstream press around the world, becoming one of 2009's top critically received metal albums and landing the band on dozens of “Best Of” year-end lists . Pitchfork.com has called Converge “this generation's Black Flag”; BBC declared the band has delivered their “most accomplished record to date”, which according to NME puts Converge “at the top of the hardcore game”.
