Glastonbury Baby!

Hands up who went to Glastonbury this weekend? I wish I’d have been there. I’ve only been once before and after missing it last year, I vowed I wouldn’t miss out again. Yet, this weekend saw me attempting to hack through an epic amount of laundry and snoozing in the sun. Not quite the cider filled, music loving, festival experience I had in mind. Ah well. At least this weekend’s other events mean I don’t have to pretend to be interested in the World Cup anymore and that’s always a bonus! But I suppose the least said about that, the better.

Glasto was all about the special guests this year from what I can gather. Kylie hitting the stage with best friends Scissor Sisters, Dr Who’s Matt Smith joining Orbital and Michael Eavis singing his heart out with Stevie Wonder!

I guess this is nothing though when you consider the special guest Victoria Iremonger had on Thursday night. She said: “I was just starting to enjoy myself at Glastonbury when my waters broke and I realised the baby was coming.” The first-time mother wanted to have her baby on site but the medical team insisted she go to Yeovil Hospital nearby. Baby Reuben was born at 7.30pm Thursday night and mother and baby returned to the festival the very next day! What a welcome into the world eh?

Speaking of babies, this weekend also saw my mum announce to me that she wanted to be a Grandmother soon. I wouldn’t hold my breath if I were her. I’m a mere child myself as if I’ll be producing offspring any time in the near future…. or maybe I’ll do a Victoria next year!

Anyway, enough baby talk. On the site this week we have interviews with The Little Million, Leddra Chapman and John, Shelly and the Creatures. We also have videos from Tame Impala, Ozzy Osbourne and The Drums plus the chance to win tickets to Beat-Herder and Wakestock festivals as well as a signed Andy Bell album. If this isn’t enough for you Kate McGill, Graffiti 6, Cattle Decapitation and Roachford are all on the road.
