White Crosses was produced by veteran producer Butch Vig (Green Day, Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins) who also produced Against Me!'s 2007 album New Wave. The decision to work with Vig again was a no-brainer. “He gets our band and brings tons of great ideas to the table,” says frontman Tom Gabel. “I really can't imagine a better creative relationship.”
Against Me! spent the past two years touring non-stop in support of New Wave, which was released by Sire Records in July 2007. Called “the most invigorating, zeitgeist-capturing rock album in years” by Spin, New Wave was named the magazine's “Album of the Year”. It also received the same accolade from Big Cheese magazine and appeared in the Top Albums lists in Kerrang!, Rolling Stone, Blender and Rock Sound.
Forming in Toronto in 2002, Fucked Up have wasted no time in building a legacy and discography that defies belief. Prolific and talented, they combine political commentary with incredible musicianship and a sense of theatre, making music like no other hardcore band in history. They also like to employ creative methods of spreading information and misinformation, adopting bizarre aliases and keeping even the most basic of facts in a state of constant flux. To date, they have released two full-length albums (Hidden World and Chemistry of Common Life) and three ‘official’ singles collections (mining from their seam of countless 7 and 12”s). They are currently working on their third studio album (due 2011) and have the next in their annual Chinese Zodiac 12” series lined up with ‘Year of the Ox’ due this September.
Goofy rawk merchants Japanese Voyeurs, are 5 feral children from the capital's underbelly, dosed up on Gluey Porch Treatments lamenting that they weren’t born 20 years earlier. The band are currently in the studio adding the finishing touchers with Garth Richardson, to their much anticipated debut album, which is expected in the Autumn. Expect the unexpected!
Plymouth hard-twang, roots-punk quartet, Crazy Arm, share their hardcore/punk, '60s protest folk/country and classic rock'n'roll, with Against Me audiences. Their debut album 'Born To Ruin' has been aired on tours with the likes of Propagandhi, Strike Anywhere, Sonic Boom Six, Streetlight Manifesto, Cancer Bat and Frank Turner and Chuck Ragan. Singles released were 'Broken By The Wheel', ' Henry Fabian Flynn' and 'Still To Keep' have been great crowd pleasers but also expect a substantial gorge of new material to shake you in your skate shoes.
