It was 15 years ago that War Child released a record, Help, with help from the big names of the day, to bring attention to the horrors of conflict in the former Yugoslav republics. The likes of Paul Weller, Paul McCartney and Noel Gallagher featured on the album as they lent their talent to the cause.
Currently working in Afghanistan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Iraq and Uganda to name but a few, they claim that “over 6 million children have had their lives torn apart as a result of warfare”. The organization was founded in 1993 by Bill Leeson and David Wilson who saw the Balkans War first hand.
