Black Mountain – Old Fangs

Rumbling lo-fi atmospheric rock parades an aching lead vocal stride, letting out feelings of bemusement and pity. Angular guitar climbs keeps the energy at the right level, before bracing and searching ambient touches provide poignancy to this mini-epic.

‘Old Fangs’, is a well threaded middle of the road rock number that is building up the intrigue for Black Mountain’s forthcoming third album. It’s the way that the pleading, echoing femme backing vocals mirrors the leads vocals to provide extra feeling. That gives Black Mountain a genuine and sincere edge.
