One Week To Go Until The Somerset House Series

The open-air concert series at Somerset House is a unique event in the summer’s live music calendar. This year the programme runs from 8 to 18 July.

The courtyard of Somerset House has played host to an inspirational line-up for the past eight years, and 2010’s season will be no exception. This year, London’s premiere open air venue has invited Air, Corinne Bailey Rae, Divine Comedy, Gil Scott-Heron, Florence + The Machine, Mystery Jets, N-Dubz, Noah & the Whale, Soul II Soul, The Temper Trap, and The xx to headline. With only a handful of tickets still available, once again the Series has captured the public’s imagination.

This year’s programme brings together five different musical strands of young London; Camberwell’s Florence, Twickenham’s Mystery Jets and Noah & The Whale, Camden’s N-Dubz, and Wandsworth’s The xx. The Series finale is a rare live outing from London legends Soul II Soul, celebrating the 21st year anniversary of the seminal ‘Club Classics Vol.1’. In addition, N-Dubz’s headline show will feature special guests and collaborations, and open with a performance by a group of young, breaking artists from across London who will have taken part in the What Next workshop programme run by Somerset House in association with Bigga Fish and Metropolis Music. More details about the N-Dubz and What Next event will be announced early next week.

Eagerly awaited headlineshows from Air, Corinne Bailey Rae, Divine Comedy, The Temper Trap, and the mighty Gil Scott-Heron, and a host of exciting supports, complete a line-up that’s set to make the Summer Series at Somerset House in 2010 very special indeed.
