There is a splendid combination of delightfully relaxing melodies and ultimate charm from Hertfordshire trio, Larsen B. These boys have adopted and dominated the sound of pop and folk tunes that will please any chilled indie fan. They’ve spread a healthy amount of this musical talent all over their new album Musketeer, with songs such as album opener Codeine that encouter twinkling sounds and super vocals from lead singer Paddy Smith. A very good start.
If you’re a fan of The Shins, Iron & Wine or British Sea Power you’ll certainly be interested by this bunch. They check all of the mellow boxes of the aforementioned bands, and with songs such as Magnify and Stitch we hear similarities that are on a par with Mumford and Sons from the joyful sounds of happy banjos…. giving a nice twist on the album.
Released through independent label Old Radio Tunes, we are left with an inoffensive album of beautiful songs and fresh vocals for anyone who likes to escape day-to-day life through music. Larsen B will relax you, intrigue you, and make you eager to listen on all the same.
