I Am Arrows Announce First Tour

I Am Arrows today announce their first UK tour.

The live band around former Razorlight man Andy Burrows’s new solo project, have so far played just a small clutch of shows, among them a residency at London’s Old Blue Last, and with Muse at the Stade De France in Paris (rather brilliantly, I Am Arrows’ first confirmed booking was actually for a show at Wembley Stadium – they’ll join Muse there on 11th September).

Post-Wembley, and following the release of debut album Sun Comes Up Again, on August 16th, I Am Arrows play the following shows:

13 SEPT NOTTINGHAM, Bodega
14 SOUTHAMPTON, Joiners
16 CARDIFF, Barfly
17 WIMBLEDON, New Slang @ Watershed
19 GLASGOW, King Tut’s
20 LEEDS, Cockpit
21 OXFORD, Jericho
22 MANCHESTER, Moho
23 LONDON, 100 CLUB

I Am Arrows’ first single, Green Grass, meanwhile, is released on Vertigo on August 9th ahead of the album. Already picking up radio play aplenty – it’s Radio 2’s Record of The Week this week, for starters – it is the perfect introduction to a collection of songs that will light up 2010.

Beautiful pop songs that suggest Seventies soul, modern ‘beats and bleeps’, and timeless melodies. Heartfelt songs about love, doubt, confusion, romance and, here and there, the mercurial ‘bromance’ he had with his former bandmates. The songs are small but huge, warmly fuzzy but perfectly formed, instantly appealing and naggingly unforgettable.

For I Am Arrows’ live shows, Andy Burrows is joined by bandmates which include two sets of brothers and some of the most delicious three part vocal harmonies you’ll have heard in a long while. The full band comprises Burrows (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Adam Chetwood (guitar), Nick Hill (guitar), Ben Burrows (bass) and Ben Chetwood (drums).
