Just off the road from shows in support of cult heroes The Get Up Kids and a Main Stage performance at Rockness, THE XCERTS are about to embark on a month-long festival jaunt taking in Edge festival, Rhythms of the World and Sonisphere before joining long-term friend and musical admirer Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly. on tour.
The Xcerts can now confirm that their second album (and follow up to 2009's 'In The Cold Wind We Smile') will be called 'Scatterbrain' and released in the Autumn through Xtra Mile Recordings. 'Scatterbrain' is the first album by a UK act to be overseen by US producer Mike Sapone (Taking Back Sunday, Brand New, Crime in Stereo…) who began work on the record with the band at his home studio in Bethpage, New York at the start of the year.
The band released the first single from the new album in June; 'Slackerpop', like the majority of the album from which it is taken, it incorporates the pop-sensibilities that made the band's debut so great but also shows a new brilliantly sinister, dirty and earthy quality to the band's sound that has not been evident before. Catch the band at the shows below for a preview of what can be expected on 'Scatterbrain'.
