There is no doubting that the new London 4-piece Yuck have already had a stellar year so far: in but a few short months they’ve already seen their debut single “Georgia” (released on Transparent in March) sell out in no time at all, go on to support the likes of Dinosaur Jr, Built to Spill, Teenage Fanclub and Japandroids, and gather a clutch of devoted fans.
This autumn, however, sees Yuck kick into high gear. Fresh from a string of summer festival dates (which are set to shortly include Field Day, Reading, Leeds and Bestival), the band have also just confirmed supports with legendary indie heroes Modest Mouse, as they make their sure-to-be triumphant live return to the UK. Then, Yuck will embark on their own tour in October – their first headline tour through the UK, where they will be playing their distinctive vein of indie pop – a little ragged around the edges, a little heartsore, a little scuffed, but still some of the most anthemic, rousing and galvanising songs you’ll hear this year, as will be shown on their upcoming debut album, which will be released in October.
