Within Temptation Announce European Tour

The colossally successful Dutch rockers Within Temptation are pleased to announce a select European tour kicking off in February 2011. The band are currently hard at work composing material for their sixth studio album, which is set for release early next year.

Within Temptation have come a long way. From their humble beginnings, the Dutch band have now amassed a staggering 2.8 million sales worldwide, making them not only Holland’s biggest selling musical export but also one of the fastest growing rock acts internationally. General sale of tickets for most shows will launch on Fri Jul 30. Always a dazzling event, expect shows to sell out quickly! Within Temptation’s last studio album ‘The Heart of Everything’ entered the European Billboard Chart in the Top-5 and crashed in at #1 in the U.S. Heatseeker Chart. The following world tour saw the band play sold out shows and festivals in 43 countries as well as the spectacular 10,000 capacity “Black Symphony” concert in Rotterdam with the Metropole Orchestra and PA‘dam choir. British magazine Kerrang! called it “the greatest show on earth!”. This Black Symphony concert, filmed with 14 HD-Cameras, was released in 40 countries reaching a Top-10 position in 11 of them (Top-3 in 8). To name just a few of their accolades, by the end of 2008 Within Temptation had won the Dutch Music Export Award 3 consecutive times, 2 World Music Awards, and 2 MTV Europe Video Awards. Late 2008 also saw Within Temptation performing their first acoustic theatre tour which was such a rousing success, the band repeated the sold-out experience this Spring.

As for stunning Within Temptation vocalist Sharon den Adel, not only did she compose the hit song ‘In And Out Of Love’ with #1 dance DJ Armin van Buuren – the video for which has received more than 60 million views on YouTube – but she is shortly to collaborate with acclaimed fashion designer Ronald Kolk. Kolk is particularly known for his decadent work with stars such as Grace Jones, Tina Turner, and Bette Midler. On Sept 6, Sharon will open the couturier’s “Couture Boudoir Noir” show for 550 select guests in the ballroom of the Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky in Amsterdam.
