So Gaga has done it again…
The Lady has set another record by claiming the most VMA nominations (13) by a single artist in a single year, in the history of the Awards show.
For those of you not familiar with the show, The Video Music Awards are hosted by MTV each year to award artistry relating to music videos. No doubt Gaga was going to get a look in with her feature-film style singles but the hype is already ALL about her.
Last year's VMA's caused quite a stir indeed. Gaga was narrowly beaten out on many nominations and simulated her bloody death on a hanging rope on stage.
Apart from that minute detail, last year was also the year of Kanye/Taylor-gate, where Kanye West stormed the stage and refused to believe that Taylor Swift won best video over (a visibly awkward and embarassed) Beyonce.
Never fear, both Knowles and Swift have been nominated again this year, along with the likes of Justin Bieber, Alicia Keys, Coldplay, P!nk, Usher, Rihanna, Eminem, Jason Derulo, Ke$ha, Katy Perry and Jay-z.
Both 'Telephone' and 'Bad Romance' have been nominated for gongs, and just to make it all the more clear that she reigns supreme, her toughest competition comes from HERSELF for the simple fact that both videos go head to head for some trophies!
Speaking about her nomination, Mama Monster tweeted,
“I'm so honored for all the little monsters and self-professed freaks of the universe, to have more VMA nominations in a single year than any artist in MTV history,” she said. “Ironically, I'm even more proud it's an unlucky number: 13.”
