Orange RockCorps returns to London’s renowned Royal Albert Hall for its third London gig. The groundbreaking initiative encourages young people to volunteer their time for a concert ticket.
Following the enormous success of 2008 and 2009 concerts with Busta Rhymes, John Legend, Chase and Status, David Guetta and Kelly Rowland, Akon, Daniel Merriweather, Nelly, Nas and Razorlight; 5000 volunteers will once again be able to earn a money-can’t-buy ticket to see some of the hottest artists and bands around.
Taking to the prestigious Hall’s stage for this exclusive gig on 24th September will be Australia's spectacular electro-rock stars Pendulum, award-winning super producer Mark Ronson & The Business Intl (new album 'Record Collection' out September), London’s very own N-Dubz and British singer-songwriter, rapper and producer Taio Cruz, who has recently topped the Billboard singles chart in North America.
Stephen Greene, RockCorps CEO says about the lineup, “Adding variety to our past London shows, this gig undeniably features a group of the hottest artists around who'll be rewarding the Orange RockCorps volunteers at the Royal Albert Hall. It will be an epic night – get your four hours in!”
Over the summer, each volunteer will give four hours of their time volunteering in their community to earn a ticket to this highly anticipated concert. Volunteers can register today at link or by calling 0800 954 7625.
“We loved performing and participating in Orange RockCorps last year in Manchester and we're honoured to be asked to perform again this time in London. The volunteering angle to this show makes it truly unique, and we share the ethos and belief of the importance of getting people onto the streets to do some good for society. It will be our first chance to ever play the Royal Albert Hall, so this is a special moment all round.” – N-Dubz
Now in its third year, Orange RockCorps has inspired and mobilised thousands of young people in the UK and abroad (France and Israel) to volunteer for local community projects in return for the exclusive concert tickets. The Orange RockCorps programme has struck a chord with volunteers in the UK and continues to be over-subscribed year-on-year. With continued support from partners BlackBerry and Channel 4, the Orange RockCorps programme is set to broaden its reach around the UK.
You can see coverage from the Royal Albert Hall event on Channel 4 and 4Music on Sunday September 26th.
