!!! To Release The Most Certain Sure
Following the release of their strictly limited 12” single ‘AM/FM’, which hit the elbo.ws Hot Tracks top 20 and stayed on NME.com’s homepage for a week, !!! (chkchkchk) return with the lead single from their new album ‘Strange Weather, Isn’t It?’
‘The Most Certain Sure’ is an undeniable slice of infectious dance-funk-punk and highlights the swagger and lyrical prowess of the new album- it will be released on August 16th , backed by a remix of the track by Liv Spencer. !!! singer Nic Offer says of the track, “Being alone is a good thing and you should enjoy it when it happens. I felt like there weren't enough songs about that — so that's what The Most Certain Sure is: an anthem about being alone.”
In October, !!! will embark on a huge European tour in support of Strange Weather, Isn’t It? due August 23rd on Warp. Strange Weather Isn’t It? is !!!'s first full-length release since 2007’s critically acclaimed Myth Takes and was recorded in Berlin where, following in the footsteps of Bowie, Iggy and Depeche Mode, !!! sought to mainline the city’s dark energy (and legendary club scene) whilst recording their third full length album on Warp. The record was co-produced by the band along with Eric Broucek, the former house engineer for DFA Records.
!!! have gone through a few line-up changes since the release of Myth Takes and in 2010 the band consist of frontman Nic Offer, guitarist Mario Andreoni, horn player/keyboardist Daniel Gorman, and saxophonist/percussionist Allan Wilson, drummer Paul Quattrone (of Modey Lemon) and !!!’s first bonafide female member, vocalist Shannon Funchess (of Light Asylum). The video for previous single ‘AM/FM’ (directed by Black Dice) was recently sitting pretty at #3 on elbo.ws video chart.
