Frankie & The Heartstrings announce a new single Ungrateful for release on 4th October on PopSex Ltd. The song was recorded with Edwyn Collins and Seb Lewsley during recent recording sessions at Collins’ West Heath Studios in Hampstead, London.
Ungrateful will be the first Frankie & The Heartstrings release available digitally following the release of two limited edition 7” only singles Fragile/Hunger and Tender/Want You Back (777 copies on Rough Trade and 888 copies on PopSex Ltd respectively).
From Monday, Ungrateful will be available as a download from link where the 7” (limited to 999 copies, with b-side What Goes Around) can be pre-ordered. The digital single release in October will include extra bonus tracks. The single is the 30th item to be added to the PopSex archive (catalogue no. PopSex30). Following stellar performances at Glastonbury’s Park Stage and Latitude Festival, Frankie & The Heartstrings continue their summer festival takeover this month with sets at Leicester’s Summer Sundae, the Edinburgh Fringe and Reading & Leeds Festival (first band on the Radio1/NME stage). A Reading Festival warm-up gig has been added for Reading’s Oakford Social on Thurs 26th. On 30th September they head out on a co-headline tour with Summer Camp – a second London show has just been added due to demand. Mid October sees them head Stateside for the first time to play New York’s CMJ.
Frankie & The Heartstrings’ debut album is scheduled for a January 2010 release on PopSex Ltd.
