Stornoway - Watching Birds
Album Review

Stornoway – Watching Birds

Hailed as the band to watch in 2010 by the BBC, Stornoway have gone from strength to strength, appearing at a plethora of festivals over the past year and releasing their debut album to much acclaim, they continue this success with latest single ‘Watching Birds.’

‘Watching Birds’ is a happy-clap-along-cider drinking-swing your partner around at a folk festival- kind of song that manages to keep you on your toes by the changing of tempo throughout. It is upbeat, energetic and above all a folk-pop gem that securely places this band in the alternative indie category.

Taken from debut album ‘Beachcomber’s Windowsill’ this is the Oxford band taking a different, more exciting approach and steering away from pop sounding first single ‘Zorbing’.

‘Watching Birds’ is fresh and imaginative; complete with a kazoo solo this is anything but generic and boring.
