Having marked the halfway point in their A – Z singles series with the 13 track compilation A-Z Vol 1, Ash wrap up the series with A-Z Vol 2 featuring the final 13 singles – letters N –Z.
Available from October 11th on Atomic Heart Records A-Z Vol 2 will also feature three bonus tracks – Ash’s cover of Teenage Wildlife (by David Bowie) and new songs Spellbound and Nightfall.
The scrutiny of each track being drip-fed to fans, juxtaposed by a freedom from the traditional 2-year album cycle, has fostered a new Ash era of diverse, imaginative pop. Singles N – Z sees Tim Wheeler’s foot firmly on the guitar pedal for bursts of signature Ash riff-age on Mind Control (O) , Insects (P) and Physical World ( R ) . Their heart wrenching balladry is in full effect too on current single Carnal Love – Letter V – and Rick McMurray’s contribution Change Your Name (X).
Ash have toured consistently this year and recently completed a series of low-key UK dates and summer festivals joined by Bloc Party’s Russell Lissack on guitar and keyboards. After dates in Japan and Australia, they’ll return to the UK in late August to wrap up the festival season with shows at Reading (Aug 28th) and Leeds (Aug 29th) festivals.
Ash will also headline the first edition of the HEADSTOCK FESTIVAL on September 11th at the Newstead and Annesley Country Park in Nottingham, a community festival which honours the mining heritage of the area.
