FROM HUMBLE BEGINNINGS Prestwich based band Marry Another have been steadily gaining recognition in the Manchester music scene. The story starts 4 years ago with Adrian being asked to play an outdoor acoustic show.
Having the material written but still lacking a band, he turned to his brother for drumming duties and enlisted the help of Carl on bass. Having only one practice before the gig as a band, the music went down incredibly well and what started out as a bit of fun soon became the trio’s main musical focus.
Wanting to expand on the sound, keyboard player Whisky was quickly recruited, followed by Lucy on violin. A three track EP was recorded and self released. Unfortunately Lucy left the fold due to heavy work commitments but Sophie entered the mix as a second vocalist.
Most recently Ewan has entered the Marry Another family on Cello and backing vocals. The band have just released ‘The Spectator’ as a digital only download, which is taken from their upcoming debut album ‘The Enlightenment’ which is to be released through Voltage Records.
There have been quite a few part time members in Marry Another; some just guests on recordings, whilst others join them for a gig or three. There is a core line up at the heart of the band, but there is always room on stage or a record for friends and musicians. What is amazing is the fact that the songs can work as stripped down solo pieces or as a full band with guest musicians. That’s what makes the live shows so fresh. You never know who will be there!
Single 'The Spectator' is now available on itunes.
