Moguai Announces 'Nyce' Remix Competition Winner

263 entries, four judges and Deadmau5’s two bleeding ears later, Mau5trap and DJ Download are as pleased as punch to announce the winners of the DJ Download ‘Nyce’ remix competition.

Marking the arrival of Moguai’s album on Deadmau5’s Mau5trap label (the first non-Mau5 long-player material to be released on the imprint), the team offered up a mind-blowing competition to remix this popular single, with a full release on Mau5trap being the ultimate prize. Subsequently, DJ Download announced a virtual roadblock with its most active and popular competition to date. Thanks to all that took part!!

1st Place – James Nije link

James wins the competition by a mile with his beefy, jacked up electro-house mix pricking up the ears of the cunning rodent. He wins a Novation Launchpad, a full Ableton 8 suite, a one-year Soundcloud Pro Pass, 50 free downloads from DJ Download and of course, a full release of this cracking banger!

2nd Place – Dakosa link

This Maidstone-based Drum and bass trio – ploughing half time drum and bass championed by D-bridge and Instra:mental – take 2nd prize with their daring and chunky dee bee mix.

3rd Place – Martin Goodwin link –

This Lyon based Frenchman offers a smooth, techy piece of progressive house destined to make the thinkers out there muse with giddy, bleeping delight.
