Booka Shade Announce London Show

German Electro House duo, Booka Shade perform a headline show at the HMV Forum, 9-17 Highgate Road in London’s Kentish Town on Friday 10th September 2010. Doors open at 8.00 pm

The Berlin-based Booka Shade, comprising of Walter Merziger and Arno Kammermeier, leapt to the forefront of contemporary dance music in 2005 with their classic singles ‘Body Language’ (with M.A.N.D.Y.) and ‘Mandarine Girl’, and their debut full-length ‘Memento’. Since then they’ve released a string of hit singles, become one of the world’s most sought-after electronic live acts and developed their unique sound on the acclaimed albums ‘Movements’ and ‘The Sun & The Neon Light’.

2008 saw the duo voted 5th best live act in the world by Resident Advisor, their single ‘Charlotte’ becoming one of the top three selling underground tracks on Beatport and Booka Shade being voted “Best Tech House Act 2008”.

The HMV Forum show will showcase tracks from Booka Shade's fourth studio album, ‘More!’ which features the upcoming single ‘Teenage Spaceman’.

With its 11 tracks, and 45 minute running time, 'More!' is a complete, self-contained work that is expecting to be judged, not against the latest faddy dancefloor trends, but against the other classic albums. Like Bjork's 'Debut'; Hot Chip's 'The Warning'; or even Massive Attack's 'Blue Lines', it is an album of modish electronics, strong emotions and rich melodies, which is both of, and transcends, the dancefloor.
