Return of Jamiroquai

25 million albums sold. Over 20 hit singles. Countless awards, including an Ivor Novello and Grammy. A career which has spanned an era defying 18 years. And now Jay Kay and his band are back to reclaim their crown as one of the UK’s premiere musical exports with the sublime Rock Dust Light Star, their 7th studio album, the first in five years and their debut for universal Records. The album will be released on 29th October 2010.

The sound on this album is a step in a new direction for the band, taking inspiration from the energy and atmosphere of live performance. Speaking of the change, Jay Kay says “everything on the record is live. It's a real band record. The last album – fantastic – but the whole thing became a little sterile. This time we’ve captured the flow of our live performances“.

The first single from the album will be the single White Knuckle Ride, a preview of which is located above. This hi-octane funk jam is a lookbak on the bands retrospective career.

The band say the feel rejuvinated and gracious to be still in the position of making music for the masses. After an exhausting seven album deal and a label change, they are back and more eager and excited than ever.
