U2 Fined For Rehearsing Too Much

Irish rockers U2 were fined in Barcelona this week for rehearsing for too long and playing too loud.

The band were made to pay a fine of 18,000 euro as they exceeded noise levels whilst playing in the city last year as part of their worldwide tour.

A statement released by local authorities, said the band were fined for: “Rehearsing until midnight, two hours over the scheduled time, and at sound levels above those set by authorities.”

The group were also fined over noise levels after a concert at Croke Park in their native Ireland last year attracted complaints from local residents and handed a bill for 36,000 Euros.

Meanwhile, the group played their first ever concert in Russia last night (25.08.10), performing in the country's capital, Moscow, to a crowd including ex-president Mikhail Gorbachev.
