Some strange gene splicing has been going on in the Mau5 lab. deadmau5 has gone and joined forces with Wolfgang Gartner for the release of 'Animal Rights' this September 6th on Beatport.
Wolfgang Gartner is a Producer and DJ based out of Austin, Texas. He has gone from strength to strength, with eight No. 1 tracks on Beatport (including the site’s best-selling track of 2009) and remixes for A-list artists (Black Eyed Peas, Timbaland, Britney Spears).
'Animal Rights' is a funky slice of glitchy electro. With a throbbing low end, this infectious track serves to further wet the appetites of fans for his forthcoming new mix album due out at the end of the year.
deadmau5 returns to the UK in December to embark on his biggest tour to date, and will be making history as he becomes the first ever electronic artiste to headline London’s legendary Earls Court, following in the footsteps of Oasis, Pink Floyd and Madonna.
deadmau5 continues to push the boundaries of electronic music, and this tour will be no exception. It kicks off on 8th December with him performing in Bournemouth, Leeds, Manchester, Coventry, Glasgow and will culminate in an unprecedented show in London becoming the only artiste of his genre to headline the mighty Earls Court. Joining deadmau5 as support on what is set to be THE biggest electronic music tour of the year is BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe, dubstep trio Magnetic Man consisting of Skream, Benga and Artwork, Calvin Harris (DJ Set) and Stanton Warriors, with highlights of the Glasgow leg of the tour broadcast live on BBC Radio 1.
In other news, MTV has invited deadmau5 to serve as the house artist for the “2010 Video Music Awards” set to air live from Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 12. deadmau5 will serve as the musical maestro for the duration of the show and will create original remixes from a variety of artists.
Additionally in October deadmau5 will be starring as an in-game playable character, in Activision Publishing Inc.’s DJ Hero 2. His smash #1 Billboard single “Ghosts ‘n Stuff”, which appeared on his most recent album 'For Lack of a Better Name', is also included on the game’s soundtrack.
