Taylor Swift Forgives Kanye West

Taylor Swift seemed to forgive Kanye West for last year's stage invasion at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) last night (12.09.10).

The 20-year-old country singer performed new track ‘Innocent’ at the ceremony, which was held at Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre, and seemed to reach out to the rapper in the lyrics.

She sang: “Everyone of us has messed up, too. I hope you remember today is never too late to be brand new.”

The track also included the lyrics: “Thirty-two and still growing up now; who you are is not what you did. You're still an innocent.”

At the 2009 VMAs, Kanye interrupted Taylor in the middle of her acceptance speech for the Best Female Video prize to tell the audience Beyonce Knowles should have won which resulted in an avalanche of criticism directed at him.
Kanye also appeared to reference last year’s incident during his performance when he rapped the lines: “I always find something wrong; you've been putting up with my **** for too long.”

During the chorus, he also chanted: “Let's have a toast to scumbags.”

After coming off stage, Kanye dedicated his performance to his late mother Donda, who died from complications caused by cosmetic surgery in 2007.

He wrote on his twitter page: “I wish my Mom was here but I know she's looking down. I want to make her so happy today.”

Lady Gaga was the biggest winner on the night, going home with eight of the 13 awards she was nominated for, including Video of the Year for ‘Bad Romance’.
