Shout Out Louds Interview

With new (aptly titled) LP ‘Work’ to promote before its release next Monday (Sep 27th, 2010), ‘The Shout Out Louds’ (SOL) are currently in the UK, touring their sweet sounding Swedish asses off!

However, that’s not prevented multi-instrumental backing vocalist Bebban Stenborg from answering a few random questions for me; just one of the multitude who first fell for SOL in 2007, when they released their vitality fuelled LP ‘Our Ill Wills’…

AS: Where do you draw your inspiration from?
BS: Failure, revenge and underdogs.

AS: How important do you feel visuals are in relation to music?
BS: For me they are absolutely vital.

AS: If you were a musical instrument what would you be?
BS: A used but functional dulcitone.

AS: If you could protect and save 1 thing in the world, what would it be?
BS: The analogue camera, and someone who uses it daily.

AS: What’s the best / your favourite music video?
BS: I think Fat Boy Slim’s ‘Weapon of Choice’ is more or less unbeatable.

AS: What’s ‘love at first sight’ all about then?
BS: Hormones, issues with one’s parents and possibly Karma.

AS: Who’s the most gifted person alive today?
BS: Demetri Martin might be.

AS: Was it easy becoming who you are today?
BS: No, it was damn hard!

AS: Do politics have a place in music?
BS: Most definitely, but maybe music doesn’t have enough of a place in politics for that to matter.

AS: Which fictional character would you most like to be and why?
BS: Holden Caulfield’s (Catcher in the Rye) Sister Phoebe, because she’s the only person he really likes. I would also go for Annie the orphan; I’ve always wanted to live in a house with a pool!

AS: Thanks so much for taking time out Bebban, enjoy the tour.
