Fresh from their slot at this years V Festival, two storming sets at Glastonbury and mighty performances at T in The Park, Isle Of Wight and Ibiza Rocks this summer; Detroit Social Club announce that the third single from their debut album will be ‘Northern Man’, released October 11th.
An explosion of the band’s trademark blues rock’n’soul sound, tinted with lead singer David Burn’s haunting lyrics, 'Northern Man' “discusses the clash of inner self doubt, with a tale of pessimism versus optimism intertwining with the concept of wasted potential” says lead singer and front man, David Burn. The single will also feature a cover of Neil Young’s ‘Heart of Gold’.
Co-produced by Burn and Jim Abbis (Arctic Monkeys, UNKLE) the track is already proving to be a live favourite and has become one of this year’s festival season anthems with its heady guitars and rich, prolific, rousing strings.
The track will also be used as the bedding music on Sky Sports’ Premiership and Champions League football coverage this season.
No strangers to life on the road, the band, who have previously opened for Oasis, supported Primal Scream and headlined the New to Q tour, are relishing their moment in the festival spotlight and are currently gearing up for their own headline tour in October (see dates below).
