The MOBO Awards, Liverpool City Council Streetwaves, and Africa Oye Touring & Trading have teamed up to produce the MOBO Streetwaves Competition!
The five lucky acts selected will get the chance to perform alongside MOBO Tour’s Unsung artists Marvell, RoxXxann, Mike Hough, G Town Desi, R.I.O and Liverpool’s very own KOF, at theMOBO Streetwaves One’s To Watch showcase on Monday the 18th October at the Liverpool CUC, as part of Industry Takeover at The MOBO Academy.
Industry Takeover @ the MOBO Academy is presented by the MOBO Organisation and Urban Development with support from PRS For Music Foundation, Arts Council England and Liverpool City Council, in association with Contemporary Urban Centre.
But that’s not all – the winning Artist/s will also get exclusive passes for the Industry Takeover at the MOBO Academy, a two day music industry seminar & showcase on the 18th and 19th of October set at Liverpool’s Contemporary Urban Centre that is all about empowering the next generation of emcees, singers, DJS and young music industry professionals.
An opportunity to participate and network with leaders fromthe entertainment industry who will be hosting master classes, open mic sessions, a music market, vocal, production and DJ workshops, and a series of seminars.
Receive a guaranteed a seat for Speed Networking where you will meet agents, managers, and other industry executives.
And one of the winners will perform at the Liverpool Black History Month Cultural Food Fest at The Palm House, Liverpool on Sunday 17th October.
Terms and Conditions
• Application process closes midnight on Thursday 7th October, 2010
• All Artist/s material must be submitted via email
• Applicants must be available to play MOBO Streetwaves One’s To Watch
evening of 18th October and the Cultural Food Fest on afternoon of the 17th October.
• All band members must be strictly aged between 14 and 25 with no
exceptions
• Applicants must be able to play a minimum of 10 minutes or 3 songs
• Bands must have a Liverpool postcode to enter.
• Judges will select Artists on a ‘most ready to perform’ basis.
• Due to the volume of applications, only bands chosen for the line up
will be notified via e-mail by 11th October, 2010.
