Summerlin Hit The Road

Say hello to SUMMERLIN; a band on a mission to put the party back into pop rock. This Leeds based 5 piece have set out to carve their own niche with a unique blend of lighthearted power-pop and their debut E.P, So Make Your Move, shows they aim to give the musical masses something to smile about.

The Leeds natives Drew Lawson (vocals), Ben Jackson (guitar, vocals), Jake Greenwood (bass), Lee Whitaker (guitar) and Liam Broad (drums) met while their current bands were falling apart and were immediately bonded by their shared love of pop music and parties.

They began playing music together and in turn created Summerlin in Late 2008, named after a members ex girlfriend who left him to move to Summerlin, Las Vegas.

Drawing on a wide range of influences, the group crafted an upbeat pop-rock sound, stating that “We wanted to write love songs you could party to.”

With their fan base growing rapidly, attention on the band began to swirl after playing shows across the UK with the likes of The Atari’s Chris Roe, Quietdrive, Set Your Goals, Sherwood and Army of Freshmen. An October 2010 tour lined up with My Passion is sure to win a new legion of followers.

Summerlin have gone from strength to strength in the 2 years since they formed, when they became one of the top 20 played unsigned acts on Myspace, followed by being asked to appear on BBC Radio One where they were interviewed, recorded a jingle and were tipped as one of the bands to look out for by Edith Bowman.

The band have got their sights firmly set on being crowned the pop punk kings of 2011.
