Mark Ronson Thanked A Gang Of Muggers For Robbing Him

The music producer was so scared when the gang attacked him in the street, he said goodbye to them with a fist knocking hand gesture.

Describing the incident, he told The Times newspaper: “As they're coming to the end of mugging me, I'm still standing there and they're making their plans. One of them is, like, 'We'll meet you back at so-and-so's house,' and they knock fists together. And, because I had so many nerves running through me, I actually put my hand out and did the same. Like, ‘Yeah, thanks for that.’ ”

Ronson – who has just released his new LP 'Record Collection' – admits his fame sometimes leaves him feeling as if he is a target for people.

The 35-year-old star is surprised by his incredible success and could never have predicted the popularity of Amy Winehouse's single 'Rehab' and album ‘Back to Black’, which he produced.

Ronson – who has also worked with Lily Allen and Robbie Williams –
Lily Allen – said: “I knew 'Rehab' was a great song, but why on earth would I have thought it could be a hit? No one was making music like that in 2006.”
