Nick Harper will be kicking off an 18-date tour, starting on November 2 at Chester Telford’s Warehouse, taking in the International Guitar Festival (November 6, Birkenhead) and The Social, London on November 14.
This follows a summer of outstanding sets at summer festivals around the country including Glastonbury, Beautiful Days, Jersey Live and London's Camden Crawl.
To coincide with the tour Nick has released on digital download his re-mastered ‘Instrumental’ album, first released in 1999.
This stunning collection of ten tracks display Nick’s talent and technique for melody and why he has become known as such a master on the Lowden guitar. This new download version now includes the original ‘Riverside’ from his first EP release, ‘Light at the End of the Kennel’ (1994), and ‘Pendle’s Choice’ from his first album ‘Seed’ (1995).
His last studio album, ‘The Last Guitar’ was released in April 2010 and contained a number of tracks inspired by his work with the Love Hope Strength Foundation, a music centric cancer charity, and fundraising events across the globe.
Nick Harper..he's played in session with Dizzee Rascal and Calvin Harris, as well as with classical guitarist Craig Ogdon for Charles Hazlewood on Radio 2.
Nick Harper…performed gigs on mountains (from Snowdon to Everest and Kilimanjaro – for charity) and is recognised as one of Britain’s finest and most accomplished acoustic guitarists and acerbic lyricists.
Nick Harper…worked with the likes of the Levellers, Jimmy Page, Squeeze and, of course, his father, the celebrated folk artist Roy Harper.
Nick Harper…dubbed the 'human jukebox' for his ability to cover the songs of over 30 artists from pop to punk, folk to funk, at the drop of a chord.
Nick Harper’s unique style, distinctively soulful voice and passionate delivery (that place him somewhere between Rufus Wainwright and Jeff Buckley) combine for a live performance that is at one spontaneous, enthralling and emotionally-charged. Biting satire, charmingly caustic wit and covers of anything from Zappa to Zeppelin, place Harper a league apart from anyone you may have seen or heard before.
