Fresh from a hugely successful festival season climaxing with a defining set to one of the biggest crowds of the weekend at Reading and a sell-out UK tour including two sell-out shows at Shepherd’s Bush Empire, Two Door Cinema Club have gone on to sell out their biggest shows to date, the London Roundhouse and Dublin’s Olympia.
The band continue their upward trajectory with the release of their new single ‘I Can Talk’ on November 1st. The deluxe edition of their album ‘Tourist History’ will precede this on October 18th as they announce three new shows with now only a few tickets left up for grabs at the Glasgow O2. Described by the Evening Standard as “a nationwide indie-pop phenomenon waiting to happen”; tickets are expected to disappear fast.
The Northern Ireland trio first released ‘Tourist History’ in March and have since earned both a devoted word-of-mouth live following and huge critical acclaim. They have sold over 40,000 albums since March. The new deluxe edition of their album will feature a beautifully shot sixty minute documentary about the band and a special bonus disc of remixes. This includes the winning remix (by Cassian) of the band’s track, ‘What You Know’, following a competition on the Two Door Cinema Club website in June.
The band’s new single, ‘I Can Talk’, which is released on the 1st November and has already attracted nearly 1.5 million YouTube plays and counting, is a brand new mix of the track by acclaimed producer and mixer Adrian Bushby, who has previously worked with Muse and Foo Fighters.
Brimming with pounding energy and youthful zeal, ‘I Can Talk’ has driving rhythms, spiky guitars, electro bass and an infectiously catchy vocal that encapsulates everything the band are about, again exemplifying why Two Door Cinema Club are one of the most talked about bands of the year.
