The 24-year-old singer – who split from her fiance Gavin Henson in May – is known for her fluctuating shape and admits her eating and exercise habits are affected by her emotions.
She said: “Generally, for me, slimness comes with a little bit of upset or stress. Whereas when I’m happy I tend to get a little bit bigger. Which is fine. I’d rather be fat and happy, to be honest.”
However Charlotte – who has two children Ruby, three, and 21-month-old Dexter with Gavin– revealed her most recent weight loss was inspired by wanting to regain the figure she had before becoming a mother.
She told heat magazine: “I was just fed up. Fed up of having massive bingo wings. I thought, ‘I’m in my early twenties and, yeah, I’ve had two kids, but there’s no reason why I shouldn’t look like I did before I had two kids.’ So I just ate less. I still ate whatever I wanted, just less of it. I halved the portions of everything I ate.”
The ‘Crazy Chick’ hitmaker added that being thin hasn’t made her glamorous and she can’t always be bothered to make an effort with her appearance.
She said: “Some people will only go out the door if they look fabulous.
I’ve got better things to do with my time, to be honest. Sometimes I wanna make an effort, because I’m a woman and I’ll want to be bothered and put a bit of a slap on and wear something nice. But sometimes I’ve been up with the babies and I’ll think, ‘Sod it, I’ll go out with wet hair and no make-up and a dodgy tracksuit on.’ ”
