The Good The Bad hail from a nuclear bunker in Copenhagen. Perhaps due to this strange setting and a little too much radiation they have found a sound which literally penetrates everything in its wake. Oozing sex appeal and effortless cool their completely instrumental debut is a screaming barrage of quick fire surf and dirty flamenco riffs, which progress adventurously through the numerical titles from 001-017, pushing the boundaries of this narrow genre with effortless tremelo lead licks and vivacious snare shots which ricochet amidst brass rushes, organ grooves and electrifying walls of sound which will leave you begging for more of their unrelenting merciless tidal wave of sexual sound.
The bands rather raunchy video for ‘030’ has been causing an absolute storm virally achieving over 450K views on the internet in ten days.
The Good The Bad are Adam Olsson on lead guitar, Johan Lei Gellett on drums and Manoj Ramdas (ex member of The Raveonettes) on baritone guitar. These three hip gunslingers have quickly risen to cult heroes among the rock n roll classes with everyone from The Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Horrors and even The Killers raving about their virtues, so much so that the latter begged the band to play at their London aftershow party at Madame JoJos last year. Even the legendary Wayne Kramer of MC5 noted them as the best band at SXSW this year!
TGTB’s debut album ‘From 001 – 017’ gets its full release through Stray Cat Records on October 25th (was only available in Denmark on vinyl until now) .
The Adam, guitarist and main writer of The Good The Bad’s songs explains, “We don’t need a vocalist. The music speaks for itself. We use the music so we don't have to say ‘I Love You’. There's too many bullshit words in this world.”
This may sound daring, but it works incredibly well both visually when you see it live and aurally when you hear it at any time of day or night. Each track manages to combine a guitar or drum riff so infectious that it is understood that grown men weep with satisfaction into their air guitars, while women swoon and stir with a delight not felt since their first kiss.
If you are new to the magic of TGTB get yourself along to one of their live shows for a show you’ll never forget. They will be in London from Oct 21st starting with a launch party open to all at Peter Parker’s on Denmark Street, London W1. More dates to be announced soon.
‘From 001 – 017’ is out on iTunes etc from October 25th on Stray Cat Records.
