The Saw Doctors Announce 2010 Tour

After a triumphant 19 date UK tour in 2009; The Saw Doctors have announced a seven date jaunt in November & December including two shows at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire.

After a gap of five years, The Saw Doctors released their first studio album of new songs in the UK last month. The Further Adventures of The Saw Doctors CD was recorded in Rockfield Studios in Wales and in Grouse Lodge Studios in Co. Westmeath, Ireland over the last eighteen months under the direction of veteran UK producer, Philip Tennant, who produced the bands debut album, If This Is Rock & Roll, I Want My Old Job Back”.

In the last two years, Ireland's Saw Doctors have blazed back phoenix-like from almost two decades of unsung glory. Out of the blue, their rambunctious cover of The Sugababes' About You Now rocketed to No 1 in Ireland, restoring them to their rightful place as that nation's best-loved good-time band. This also prompted the release of their Best of collection “To Win Just Once – Best of The Saw Doctors” which debuted at Number 3 in the Irish charts last year and went on to achieve platinum status.

Fronted by two criminally under-rated songwriters, Leo Moran and Davy Carton, this is the band that entered the record books back in 1990 when I Useta Lover spent nine weeks at number one, becoming Ireland's best-selling single of all time. They followed up with the No 2 hit, N17, and a chart-topping album, If This Is Rock And Roll, I Want My Old Job Back. Irresistibly singable songs (To Win Just Once, Hay Wrap and Same Oul' Town to name but three), still flowed from Moran and Carton; their stormingly exuberant live shows remained unparalleled celebrations of the spirit of great rock; and their substantial phalanx of hardcore fans on both sides of the Atlantic never wavered in support.

In March, The Saw Doctors toured Australia for the first time in seventeen years, playing the Port Fairy Folk Festival, in Victoria. The Age Newspaper in Melbourne said “The most popular act of the Port Fairy Festival was hard-driving Irish band, The Saw Doctors with their infectious songs about love, soccer and small town life”. The Saw Doctors also made two tours to the US this year, selling out the 2,400 capacity House of Blues venue in Boston in May. This summer, The Saw Doctors have played Glastonbury Festival, Oxegen Festival in Ireland and V Festival in Stafford and Chelmsford.
