Ou Est Le Swimming Pool herald from London’s musical hotbed, Camden Town. The band’s sound has been moulded and infused by the area’s rich musical tapestry and social setting, plus a firm nod to the keyboard authenticity of the late 1970’s new wave and early 80’s electro.
Formed in 2008 in the North London borough the band featured the late Charles Haddon (ex The Daze) (vocals), Joe Hutchinson (Keyboards) and Caan Capan (Vocals)
The bands debut album “The Golden Year” is be released on 11th October 2010 with single “The Key” on the 10th October 2010.
The band’s fanbase have given them extraordinary support since the death of lead-singer Charles Haddon and because of this have taken the decision to make the album available exclusively to their fanbase to hear first. Fans can access the album stream by visiting the band on Facebook here link.
“The Golden Year” was produced by Haddon and co-writer / producer Anders Kallmark. It features the band’s 3 singles to date: the infectious radio mugging anthem and an intricately constructed festival favourite “Dance The Way I Feel”, “Jacksons Last Stand” and “These New Knights”.
The band has received consistent support from Nick Grimshaw and Zane Lowe at Radio 1 and Eddy Temple Morris at XFM.
The band has developed a strong base and reputation overseas, with Top 20 success in a number of territories. As a result they have made club and festival appearances across Europe. Recent successful UK festival appearances have included Glastonbury, Wakestock, Boardmasters, Bestival.
This has been backed-up by high profile support slots with La Roux and Example.
