Madness are to play four all ages matinee shows on their forthcoming UK tour in November and December. As with last year’s Liberty Of Norton Folgate extravaganza, the band will open doors in the afternoon for the first of two shows in the day to allow all ages to witness the glory of one of the UK’s finest and most recognised bands in full flight. Chas Smash has this message for Madmen and women of all ages:
” The country and many of its folk are going through difficult times financially and we felt that it would be a worthy thing for Madness to give a little back this Christmas. So we decided on this forthcoming Tour to play additional matinee shows at a greatly reduced ticket price which would allow those who might be feeling the pinch to bring along the whole family to enjoy what is generally regarded as possibly the greatest show on Earth. Well, I can say its definitely worth a look.”
Tickets for the matinee shows will be priced at £12 for under 18’s and are available now for the following dates:
November
Saturday 27th – Glasgow, O2 Academy 0844 499 9990
Sunday 28th – Newcastle, O2 Academy 0844 477 2000
December
Saturday 4th – Leicester, De Montfort Hall 0116 233 3111
Sunday 5th – Leeds, O2 Academy 0844 477 2000
Saturday 11th – Birmingham, O2 Academy 0844 477 2000
Madness are currently working on a new album for next year to follow the valedictory success of ‘The Liberty of Norton Folgate’, and have been going through their boxes marked ‘unreleased’ and ‘never seen’ for a project that inspired the tour’s title. Expect some new songs to accompany the old favourites in a sneak preview of what Madness have in store for 2011.
