Rumer Confirmed For Mencap Little Noise Sessions

Rumer is among the first artists to be announced for this year’s Mencap Little Noise Sessions. She will play the Union Chapel on Tuesday November 16, alongside Paolo Nutini. Acts already confirmed across the other dates include the likes of Tom Jones and Hurts, with many more to come.

This one-off acoustic date will see Rumer’s acclaimed voice and luscious sounds stripped back to their bare beauty, in the perfect setting of the Union Chapel. It follows arresting live performances on the likes of ‘Later…With Jools Holland’, which caused such a commotion that John Prescott volunteered to blog about her for The Guardian. Both her debut headline show (London’s Bloomsbury Theatre) and the forthcoming Tabernacle date on November 2nd sold out within hours of going on sale, with tickets for the Mencap sessions also expected to go quickly. Registration is now open at link, and will last until Friday 15th October: all proceeds going to the learning disability charity itself.

Rumer’s Little Noise session comes hot on the heels of her debut album, ‘Seasons Of My Soul’ (November 1st, Atlantic Records). Already riding high across the pre-order charts, the record will include the surprise hit of the summer, ‘Slow’, on top of the quickly-rising new single, ‘Aretha’ (out on October 25th, and A-Listed across the likes of Radio 2). As she gears up to duet with Elton John at the BBC Electric Proms – London’s Roundhouse, October 28th – Rumer can now announce details of an intimate in-store performance at Rough Trade East. The gig will take place on the day of the album’s release; wristbands are available on the day, on a first-come first-served basis.
