Jonny Russell, Mark Booth, Sergiusz Zasada & Chris Hassan make up the transgressive square that is We Walk In Straight Lines, an awkward, world-weary head-fuck of excess baggage, mood swings and paranoia. Rarely at rest, now, them Straight Lines are hammering away at rusty nails on tired floorboards desperately trying to sure up the ground beneath them.
Their self-titled EP is a furious smorgasbord of hollow vindication played out to an imaginary menagerie of morbidly obese cats and sapless bullfrogs. Fresh from Liverpool Soundcity where the band supported Field Music at one of the showpiece gigs of the festival, the band are constantly developing their sound which takes in echoes of the Walkmen, the National and Husker Du. Beneath them is only mud and crust and ever-depleting lilypads of grass; listen to them hop from sod-to-sod. Listen to them struggle. Validate it. Hold it.
Lazy Genius are very excited to announce the debut release from We Walk In Straight Lines is out now on iTunes. The band celebrated the self titled release with a short string of live shows around the country, including an appearance at the Southsea Fest and a show at London's Dublin Castle and will be supporting the south coast's 'The Strange Death of Liberal England' at The Masque in Liverpool on the 20th of October.
