Athens, GA based trio, The Whigs have announced a headline show at The Borderline in London on 15th December. The show will come in the middle of a Europe wide tour that sees The Whigs join Kings of Leon on some of the biggest stages throughout Europe.
An exuberant, no-holds-barred live act, The Whigs have become one of America's most exciting rock and roll bands having shared the stage with amongst others The Black Keys, Drive By Truckers, The Kooks & Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.
After independently releasing their debut album 'Give 'Em All A Fat Lip' in 2005 The Whigs signed to US label ATO Records to release their much acclaimed sophomore LP 'Mission Control' in 2008. Now the band are gearing up to unleash their stunning third album 'In The Dark' in the UK and Europe on the 24th January 2011 on Kartel.
Recorded largely in Athens with Ben H. Allen (Animal Collective) and with additional help from Jay Joyce (Cage The Elephant) and Angelo Petraglia (Kings of Leon) 'In The Dark' is bursting with energy, emotion and unpredictable experimentation.
The album is preceded by the single 'Hundred/Million', released on 15th November and is available now as a free download from: link
