Hot on the heels of their headlining slot on the NME Radar Tour, The Joy Formidable have confirmed extensive UK dates for February of 2011. These dates will be the next chance for fans to see the hotly tipped three piece in the UK.
Having completed work on their debut, self produced album prior to the tour with a visit to Los Angeles to mix with Rich Costey (Muse, Rage Against The Machine), the dates mark the start of what is likely to be a phenomenal year for the band. Having self released a clutch of highly rated singles (compiled on to the ‘A Balloon Called Moaning’ mini album at the close of 2009), The Joy Formidable have seen their stock rise sharply throughout the 2010, with ‘Balloon’ gaining a US release via Passion Pit’s Black Bell Records, two sold out US mini tours and a subsequent worldwide deal with Canvasback Records to add to their largest ever UK shows at Camden’s Electric Ballroom and Koko and a host of rapturously received festival performances including Glastonbury and Reading and Leeds in the UK.
