Tokyo Police Club’s new single Favourite Colour is the stand out track on their recent second album, the triumphant Champ and is all set to be released to coincide with their November headline national UK tour.
Having stepped straight out of high school in 2006 with their hyperactive mini-album A Lesson in Crime, swiftly followed with their debut full length Elephant Shell in 2008, Tokyo Police Club’s relentless touring has taken in appearances at festivals from Coachella to Glastonbury, three TV appearances on David Letterman and, bizarrely, an appearance on an episode of Desperate Housewives.
Favourite Colour is classic Tokyo Police Club with a catchy as you hell, stop start chorus, pop culture referencing lyrics (check the line “like K-Ci and Jojo, like Sonny and Cher, you're Tina but I'm not Ike”) and a fist pump energy that’s currently sound tracking this seasons’ Match of the Day goals round up.
The single is accompanied by a remix of album track Boots of Danger by the Vampire Weekend remix team Boys Like Us.
The band – comprising Dave Monks – bass/vocals, Greg Alsop – drums, Graham Wright – keys, Josh Hook – guitar are all set to hit up the UK in November as follows:
04 November, Manchester, Ruby Lounge
06 November, Glasgow, King Tuts
08 November, Leeds, Cockpit
09 November, London, Heaven
10 November, Brighton, Audio
