Urban newcomer Loick Essien is set to release his new single ‘Stuttering’ featuring Dappy from N-Dubz on December 12th
Fresh from the success of his street-track ‘Love Drunk’ – which was a huge radio hit across specialist stations 1Xtra, Kiss and Choice – Loick returns to the specialist scene with this infectious, up-tempo, urban hit.
Loick recorded the track after he met a girl in the USA who he really liked but never got to properly talk to. He said:
“This is a song about when you like someone so much the words don’t come out right and you end up stuttering. It’s something that happens to everyone and I think people can really relate to this on a personal level.”
20 year old Loick started his career as a child, starring in a variety of music videos including Big Brovaz ‘OK’. His talents were spotted by MTV Select presenter Richard Blackwood who was so impressed he offered him the chance to co-present the show with him.
Most recently Loick Essien has become widely regarded as one of the most explosive talents in the industry and has featured on Bashy’s underground hits ‘When The Sky Falls’ and ‘Black Boys’. He also collaborated with Chipmunk on his infamous track ‘Beast’ and has recorded and written with some of the best urban talent around from Labrinth, N-Dubz and Naughty Boy to the likes of Lashwan Daniels, James Fauntleroy and Stargate.
