Eva Longoria's Lady Gaga Inspired Ham Dress

The MTV European Music Awards were live from Madrid last night with the gorgeous Eva Longoria hosting the show. With thirteen costumes changes she proved she was a diva, although one of those costumes was a Spanish ham… tribute to Lady Gaga’s meat dress perhaps? It’s always nice to see a huge star with a sense of humour and the ability to take the mickey out of themselves though.

Speaking of Lady Gaga, she won three awards including best female and best song for her hit Bad Romance. She wasn’t at the awards bash though as she was appearing in concert in Budapest the same night. She accepted her awards via satellite link and said: “This means so much to me, Europe I love you.”

The night was dominated by US stars, with UK artists failing to convert their nominations. Plan B, Alexandra Burke and Muse were among the acts who lost out.

Katy Perry, who won best video for California Gurls, arrived at the event with husband Russell Brand in their first public appearance together since marrying in India two weeks ago.

Other award winners included best hip-hop act for Eminem, best alternative act for Paramore and best new act for Ke$ha. Linkin Park were named best live performers while 30 Seconds to Mars won best rock act. Justin Bieber collected two awards for best male and best push act (whatever that means!)

Bad times for UK music acts it seems…

Anyway, on the site this week we have interviews with Brian Eno, The Answering Machine, The Cat Empire and Jay Mya. We also have new videos from Anna Calvi, Trey Songz, Filter and a behind the scenes look at the new Count and Sinden video. As if all that wasn’t enough you have the chance to win tickets to see The Dead Class, Dreadzone, I Am Arrows and Gorillaz. Plus, Elliot Minor, The James Cleaver Quintet and Haight-Ashbury are all on tour.
