Reunited – and it feels??

What is it about bands reuniting?

Hot on the heels of some guy called Robbie re-joining Take That we hear that Pulp are to reform for a series of dates in 2011.

And there are currently several 80s bands touring, from Spandau Ballet to Depeche Mode and ABC. Blur have played live dates, and a few years ago there was probably the ultimate reunion concert – Led Zeppelin at the 02 Arena.

So is this trend simply a case of crude commercialism? Take That did sell quite a few concert tickets apparently. Or does it show a lack of originality among artists who prefer to live on their past reputation rather than produce new material?
