Envy Of The State – Rags To Riches
Envy Of The State consists of Scott Adams (vocals), Steve Tipton (bass), Darrel Smith (guitar) and Ben Millington (drums). They come from Telford near Birmingham, they signed a record deal in New York City minutes after performing a mind-blowing live set at the CMJ Festival and this summer they released their debut album ‘Soundtrack Of Your Life’ in the UK to universal critical acclaim from the likes of Kerrang, Classic Rock, Rock Sound and Total Guitar to name but a few!
Recorded, produced and mixed by the renowned Russ Russell (The Wildhearts, Napalm Death, SiKth) ‘Rags To Riches, Riches To Rehab’ is the bands second single and is released on Monday November 22nd. The track is the perfect introduction to a band that possess a talented knack for wiring massive rock sounds with powerfully infectious guitar hooks and instantly memorable vocals to create fist-pumping and life affirming slab’s of modern alternative rock. The anthemic quality that Envy Of The State display brings to mind the sounds of such rock luminaries as Lostprophets, Bullet For My Valentine and Velvet Revolver but adding to that a diversity and dynamic all of their own and this new single has all the qualities to be a big hit – the video is already a massive success on Kerrang.tv where it was made the video of the week in September and has been in Scuzzs top ten requests for over a month.
The band have also impressively built up a sizeable presence in the USA after a string of live dates earlier this year for great promoters who are all eager to have them back such was the impression they made! This was also mirrored by promoters in the UK after they toured with InMe and Fei Comodo, adding substantial numbers to an already growing fan base and confirming the bands potential for genuine stardom. Envy Of The States time is now and they will be undertaking a headline UK tour in November.
